Dr. Rutherford is a native of central Florida who earned his MD in 2005 from USF College of Medicine, and completed a 3 year internal medicine residency program with the USF College of Medicine’s Department of Internal Medicine, training at the Moffitt Cancer center, Tampa General Hospital, and multiple VA facilities. 

His nearly 20 year career has given him a vast range of experience, and has included work as a hospitalist at a Level 1 trauma center providing comprehensive care for a wide range of acute disease and injury processes, in pirmary care clinics providing ongoing medical management of chronic disease, in urgent care clinics treating a variety of common acute injuries, providing end of life care for Hospice in both the home and care center settings, and even helping opioid addicted patients detox and come off of dangerous street drugs. 

His philosophy on medical care in general, and the role of a physician in patient’s health is very holistic. His goal is to provide optimized, individualized, and comprehensive care that adresses physical, mental, and emotional health needs. 

His drive to learn all things medical has drawn him to Sarasota and its well established aesthetics industry. It is the diversley talented, experienced, caring professionals, and their wide range of skills that has drawn him to CY Beauty. He will look to identify and treat patients’ medical and behavioral health needs, knowing that true beauty really begins within, and only enhance the already outstanding results and outcomes the spa produces.
